H5N1 Bird Flu - An unquantifiable threat
By Tim Garland - Business Continuity Specialist

Just over seven years ago many people were talking about Y2K and the potential disasters that may befall our modern society.

After Y2K had passed there was a great deal of publicity stating that it had merely been 'hype' but I am sure if work had not been done prior to the start of the new millennium many businesses would have encountered many more issues than they did.

Y2K was a simple issue in so far as:
1) People knew the date it was going to happen and;
2) People knew exactly what computer issues they were looking for.

In the case of Bird Flu, however, we know little other than:
1) By the laws of probability it will occur and;
2) As time goes by this probability increases.

There are several schools of thought as to what action should be taken at the moment. To some extent this relies on one's attitude to the risk, since this guides a person's response.

It is only correct that we draw people's attention to the various products that are on the market which can be purchased to help reduce the possible effects that people would experience should they contract this.

These drugs can not only be purchased for staff but also for family members. If you require further information on companies offering these drugs please feel free to contact us.
